Following our class discussions regarding what we already know about Dinosaurs and Sharks, which I learned from each class was A LOT! We now have a starting point from which to launch our research. I was pleased to see the expression on students' faces when I told them we were going to use our library laptops to research our topic! What an awesome start! Students from Divisions 6,7,8,9 (Grades 3 & 4s) are working together to gather information to add to our class inquiry project. It's such a joy to have students running towards to me to tell me what new facts they learned today, or to look at this cool video they are watching!

Grade 3 and 4 classes are starting the year off full of wonder!
The focus of our Wonder Wall unit will be to get students engaged by teaching them to formulate questions regarding the world around them. The goal is to give students the tools to seek relevant and reliable information using the resources that we have available to us in the Learning Commons. Below are some pictures of our initial lesson. Some students really got into asking questions or suggesting topics we should look at in our Learning Commons this term! |
